The Drama Debate
Main
Sala Ellisse

Sponsored By:
     RTI SpA - Mediaset Group

The demand for docudramas and documentaries with re-enactments is stronger than ever. Where is the tipping point that turns a conventional documentary into a docudrama? Are docudramas likely to replace conventional documentaries? What is the cost to the truth and whose truth are we talking about? Most docudramas tend to be international co-productions where finding a unified perspective on history is often one of the biggest challenges.
The take-away from this session includes:
• Perspectives on the differences between a documentary and a docudrama
• How dramatic license is changing our view of history
• Alternatives, if any, to dramatic re-enactments
• Working with differing perspectives on history
• Creative uses of dramatic re-enactments on smaller and medium budgets
